bhive design's principle designer and owner, Karen Bigiel, is a minimalist at heart with an eclectic personal style and a commitment to pursuing sustainable practices. Combining natural elements, long-lasting materials, vintage furnishings and clients' personal treasures to create spaces with soul and down-to-earth elegance is a priority!  Karen has a rich background in corporate and commercial design spanning 20 years and took a break from her corporate career between 1997 and 2012 to focus on smaller projects during her children’s early years.  Karen's passion for all aspects of design and the eagerness to pursue her own path led to establishing bhive design in 2013, with the goal to collaborate with contemporaries, designing residential and commercial spaces inclusively.
